1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Spring Speciale, also known as Giulia SS, are small sports cars manufactured by Alfa Romeo from 1959 to 1966. This rocket-like interpretation of the Giulietta Sprint Coupe was penned by Mr. Franco Scaglione and achieved a record (for a production car) .28 coefficient of drag, not bested for over twenty years. It was capable of 125mph and about 1366 Sprint Speciales were ever produced. In 1963 , disc brakes were fitted and the engine grew from a 1300cc to a 1600cc, with some small interior changes as well.
These Giulia Sprint Speciales have come on strong in the collector market in the last coupe of years with their styling roots going back to Alfa’s arresting “BAT” show cars. With cars of this era appreciating, with their limited production numbers, like the Spring Speciale, they will enjoy the most significant increases in value. This particular example is fully restored both cosmetically and mechanically. Sporting a flawless red exterior with matching red leather interior. Great driver, and boasting a fantastic opportunity to own a rare Italian sports car. These “SS” are an amazing addition to anyone’s collection.
