1966 Rolls Royce Phantom V PV22S James Young Tourning Sedan
With the launch of the Phantom V, Rolls-Royce offered its clients a long wheelbase vehicle of the highest class, reserved not only for dignitaries, royalty and heads of state, but also for those successful in business and finance who were looking for an exceptional car providing convenience, incredible comfort and plenty of room. Although the first orders were placed by the royal court and dignitaries, the bulk of inquiries originated in industry or from private individuals.
This beautifully restored One-off James Young Rolls Royce example is truly unique. A one of a kind! It was special ordered and is the only factory all white Phantom V James Young Touring Limousine ever produced. This car was built for a very successful Cleveland restaurant owner who specified several remarkable features for his new car when it was delivered to him in New York on March 5, 1966. All touring limousines are built with a center divider to separate the owner from the driver. A one of one, the center divider was eliminated along with the drivers headrest that enables the seat to travel farther into the backseat area which results in a very comfortable driver position. The car is now a large sedan instead of a true limo. The interior was fitted with porcelain white upholstery, matching white steering column and a first for any Rolls Royce, a white steering wheel! Other notable unique options include the under dash cocktail cabinet, a foot activated air horn, and automatic head lamp dimmer. This car was also used in the movie “My Best Friends Wedding” starring Julia Roberts. A truly remarkable find and available for the new owner to enjoy for many years to come. Amazing addition to anyone’s collection.
