1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud I James Young Sedanca Coupe
Construction was body-on-frame, which permitted special bodied versions, though the overwhelming majority were built with the standard pressed steel company manufactured steel body shell. Light weight aluminum was used for the door, bonnet/hood, and boot/trunk lid. The chassis was a simple steel box section, welded together and very rigid. James Young was one such special coach-builder who exploited the Silver Cloud’s body-onframe construction into this very special and extremely rare Sedanca Coupe.
This 1958 Roll Royce James Young Sedanca Coupe is one of two ever built. These two coupes are undoubtedly the most gorgeous Sedanca Coups ever built by any Rolls Royce coach-builder. This extremely low mileage example is equipped with many unique features, including an illuminating pre-war Lalique crystal hood ornament. The two tone paint is absolutely stunning. A true blue chip investment grade Rolls Royce that would be an excellent addition to anyones portfolio. Meticulously cared for with very limited use showing only 6,553 original miles! The car was bought new by Rudolph Light of Nashville, TN. The car was then sold to New York plastic surgeon, and Rolls royce enthusiast, Dr. Samuel L. Scher. After his retirement to Palm Beach, Florida the car was sold to his neighbor and ultimately being acquired by a private collector.
